Why am I doing this?

Late in 1999 I was searching the web trying to find out when Shikellamy wrestled Line Mountain. I was amazed to discover that I could not find any information about the Shik Wrestling team anywhere on the web. So, I decided to create this site.

My primary goal is to provide current Shik Wrestling info to fans (especially to fans like myself who no longer live in the area).

I am also hoping this site creates interest in the Shik Wrestling program among parents and their kids so that the great tradition of wrestling at Shikellamy High School continues in the future.

Tech Stuff

The site is hosted by iPowerWeb.com. It runs on RedHat Linux with Apache 1.3 as the web server. The site is mostly handwritten HTML, with a small amount of Javascript.

Disclaimer

This site is not officially sanctioned by the school district, the team, the coaches, the booster club, the athletic department or anyone else. ShikWrestling.com is run by me in my free time. I paid for the domain name out of my own pocket.

Who Am I anyway?

I am a software engineer and a 1989 graduate of Shikellamy High School. In 1993 I graduated from Penn State University (another school with a great wrestling tradition). Despite only wrestling in 5th grade, I have always been a fan of Shik Wrestling (and wrestling in general).
